Future Tech Studio students are once again taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Challenge.
The business challenge allows teams of schools to compete in regional and national competitions, as well as develop key employability skills based around the “Learning by Doing” principle.
Working in a business team, this year’s group have been asked to set up and run their own company for one academic year. As part of the programme they will elect a board of directors, carry out market research, develop a product or service, manage finances, promote their business as well as market and sell their product to the public.
This year’s students will be supported by our newest Employer Partner, Latitude Group, as well as Andrea Edwards, Head of Business Development, and Lorraine Prendergast, Employer Engagement Officer.
This year’s team is made up of Year 10 students Adam Cope, Adam Weir, Caitlyn Moran, Kian Murphy, Maksymilian (Maks) Gusta, Oskar Zielinski, Rimel Cortez, Ryan Meehan, Samuel Banks.
So far, the team have agreed on a Company name, Create U, and have discussed the types of products they wish to develop and sell. They have a specific aim in that their product range will be personalised and their level of customer services is high.
The team are currently selling shares and designing draft products whilst discussing their potential product range with their customer base.
Once their market research is complete, they will start to raise money for their product range and
will be attending the Barclays Christmas Fayre in December.
