Year 13 Engineers Visit Hinton House With Sellafield

The students are currently working on a ‘real life’ project in collaboration with Sellafield concerning the future sustainability of their waste storage silos. As part of their project, students must research legislation, health and safety and develop a range of concept solutions. The students are currently at the stage of developing their design ideas and finding how to improve them.
In order to develop and progress, the students were invited to the offices to show Sellafield engineers their concepts. The students were given basic information about the waste storage silos and had the opportunity to speak to the engineers about how to improve their designs and concepts.
The students also gained valuable information about future careers and apprentices with Sellafield both in Warrington and Cumbria.
Thanks to Ben Pilling and Andrew Yates for working with Future Tech Studio and arranging this visit.
