Studio Schools are small schools for 300 students and, with a 9am-5pm working day, they aim to feel more like a workplace than a school.
Working closely with local employers, Studio Schools will offer a range of academic and vocational qualifications at Levels 2 and 3, including
GCSEs in English, Maths and Science, as well as provide work placements linked directly to employment opportunities in the local area. Students will gain a broad range of employability and life skills through the CREATE skills framework (Communication, Relating to Others, Enterprise, Applied,
Thinking, Emotional Intelligence), and will have the opportunity to progress onto University, Apprenticeships, further training or into employment after completing their studies at Future Tech Studio. In order to establish and maintain strong employer links, Future Tech Studio has a dedicated Employer Engagement Team and their vision is simple:
EmployAbility looks at various areas:
Students will participate in planned sessions which look to develop and strengthen key skills needed in the workforce of tomorrow, bridging the employability gap and providing a safe environment for students to practice their skills
Project Based Learning
The aim of this type of learning is to enable students to be active and engaged in their own learning. Students are inspired to obtain a deeper
knowledge of the subjects they are studying
Employers and Institutions are invited into the classroom to bring topics to life, this enriches the curriculum and helps students visualise their
pathway in the world of work
Work experience placements
Students will have the opportunity to combine academic and vocational qualifications with real life work experiences. Placements offer students the chance to gain valuable experience spending time working for an employer and carrying out duties or tasks as any other employee of the company would.
