Mr P. Atkinson

Mr P. Atkinson Community Governor

Phil is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Programme Manager, working in scientific research on UK and International large science projects and facilities, having 34 years’ experience of the design, integration and operation of particle accelerators. He is involved with the NW regional skills agenda from an employer perspective and leads his organisations apprenticeship scheme. Phil is a passionate supporter of education, skills development and lifelong learning. Phil is an experienced school governor and vice chair at another Warrington School. He has two children in full time education.

Mrs J. Burnett

Julie has worked within the education sector for 23 years. She has vast experience working with Further Education cross multiple disciplines and most recently worked as a manager of European Social funded projects. Julie previously worked as a College Development Manager and as a lecturer delivering Apprenticeships and qualifications across the Service Industries. Julie has recently completed her Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) qualification and has recently achieved her Chartered Institute Personnel Development HRM (CIPD) at Level 5.

Before retiring in 2002, Peter was employed for 35 years in the Automotive Industry, having graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the Imperial College London University. During his time in the industry, Peter worked as a Manager in Product Planning, Business Planning and a Project Director. Since retiring, Peter has taken on voluntary roles including as a Magistrate, Hospital Governor, Citizens Advice Adviser and now School Governor.

Mr M. Halliwell

Mark is a Business Manager with a control and instrumentation company, Yokogawa UK Limited, specialising in the nuclear and gas network industry. He has been with the company 14 years. Mark’s background includes completing an apprenticeship and engineering qualifications with the company that is now United utilities followed by part time study to complete a BA (Hons) in Business. Mark is particularly interested in ensuring pupils understand that there is more than one route to achieve success academically and onward in to the work place. Mark has previously been a member of a high school governing body.

Mrs T. Jones

Tracy is a newly appointed Parent Governor and has extensive experience in Business Administration, continuous improvement and project and audit management. Tracy is also HR qualified and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. It was while working on the Building Schools for the Future projects for five years that Tracy’s passion for a career within the education sector first began. Employed full time as Personal Assistant to the Principal of a Further Education College and Multi Academy Trust, Tracy has a solid understanding of strategic planning, performance data and Ofsted and Governance requirements and regulations.

Ms C. Keep

Caroline currently teachers Physics at Future Tech Studio School. She previously worked in the Environmental Geo-Engineering sector. Caroline also works in Higher Education and helps various universities with educational research and is one of the founders of the Maker Education Working Group UK. Caroline is also co-founder of HEdSpaceUK academic panel, as well as creating children’s science festival, Liverpool Makefest. She has a special interest in developing innovative teaching user maker education for the promotion of girls in STEM. She also blogs for Liverpool girl geeks and is the author of various educational books on hands-on scientific education, including coding. Caroline has worked with the Royal Society of Chemistry on their national program for educational outreach and is a proud member of the Institute of Physics. When not teaching, Ms Keep is often found building robots or rockets.

Mr G. Lovelady

Mr G. Lovelady Business Partner Governor

Graeme is a Business Director within Hays Specialist Recruitment and has been with the business for over 11 years. He specialised in education recruitment across the North West, working with schools to recruit temporary and permanent staff. Prior to working with Hays, Graeme graduated from John Moores University with a BA Honours in Food & Nutrition. Graeme cares about the education children receive and, as a school governor, hopes to help all children reach their goals and career aspirations.

Miss N. Madden

Miss N. Madden Staff Governor

Niki spent many years in the retail management industry for many years before entering teaching. She now teaches Business, Economics and ICT at Future Tech Studio and believes that academic and vocational studies are as important as each other. Niki is also a firm believer in work experience and getting students ‘work ready’ in an ever growing competitive employment market.

Mr D. Plant

Mr D. Plant Vice-Chair of Governors

Dean worked as a PE teacher and was Head of Boys PE at several large secondary schools in the North West until 1999, when he left teaching to start his own business. In 2013, Dean returned to University to complete a part time Master’s Degree in Business (MBA). He regularly lectures on the entrepreneurial aspects of business and offers advice on start-ups and the fundamentals of running a business. Dean has previously been a governor at primary level and is keen to add his skill set to Future Tech Studio and work with the students, staff and other governors to help drive success.

Mr L. Stewart

Mr L. Stewart Staff Governor

Lee completed his PGCE with Edge Hill University and specialises in Business and Economics. Lee previously volunteered in schools in Northern Ireland prior to his PGCE. Since starting at Future Tech Studio, Lee has been involved in a variety of enrichment activities including running the Young Enterprise group.

Ms G. Stonier

Ms G. Stonier Principal

Gail has been the Principal at Future Tech Studio since September 2015. She previously spent two years as the Head of a 14-16 Apprenticeship Academy and was responsible for the whole A Level and Sixth Form provision at Leeds City College. Previous to this, Gail set up a Sixth Form college in Sheffield and held the position of Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. This recent leadership background has combined Gail’s experience of both vocational and employment skills with her focus firmly being on academic excellence in a variety of fields and educational pathways.

Miss A. Wood

Miss A. Wood Community Governor

Anneka is an experienced marketer who is a specialist within digital marketing and has worked in the industry for over 16 years. Anneka currently works for Warrington Collegiate’s marketing team and has an involvement with the day to day marketing of the Future Tech Studio School. From working in the Education sector she is well placed to help support and guide the governing body on possible communication and web developments that may be useful for the students and staff to know about. She joined the Governing body in July 2016.

Miss N. Wozny

Miss N. Wozny Clerk

Since February 2016 - Attended 5/5 Meetings

Nadia is a Personal Assistant to the Principal of Future Tech Studio and is also Examinations Officer and Clerk to the Governors. She has previously worked at the University of Salford, Manchester PCT, Central Manchester Foundation Trust and in Children’s Community Services.


Minutes of Meetings

The governing body will ensure that a signed copy of the minutes of each full committee will be available on the website and remain there for a minimum of 12 months.
