Before retiring in 2002, Peter was employed for 35 years in the Automotive Industry, having graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the Imperial College London University. During his time in the industry, Peter worked as a Manager in Product Planning, Business Planning and a Project Director. Since retiring, Peter has taken on voluntary roles including as a Magistrate, Hospital Governor, Citizens Advice Adviser and now School Governor.
Mark is a Business Manager with a control and instrumentation company, Yokogawa UK Limited, specialising in the nuclear and gas network industry. He has been with the company 14 years. Mark’s background includes completing an apprenticeship and engineering qualifications with the company that is now United utilities followed by part time study to complete a BA (Hons) in Business. Mark is particularly interested in ensuring pupils understand that there is more than one route to achieve success academically and onward in to the work place. Mark has previously been a member of a high school governing body.
Graeme is a Business Director within Hays Specialist Recruitment and has been with the business for over 11 years. He specialised in education recruitment across the North West, working with schools to recruit temporary and permanent staff. Prior to working with Hays, Graeme graduated from John Moores University with a BA Honours in Food & Nutrition. Graeme cares about the education children receive and, as a school governor, hopes to help all children reach their goals and career aspirations.
Niki spent many years in the retail management industry for many years before entering teaching. She now teaches Business, Economics and ICT at Future Tech Studio and believes that academic and vocational studies are as important as each other. Niki is also a firm believer in work experience and getting students ‘work ready’ in an ever growing competitive employment market.
Dean worked as a PE teacher and was Head of Boys PE at several large secondary schools in the North West until 1999, when he left teaching to start his own business. In 2013, Dean returned to University to complete a part time Master’s Degree in Business (MBA). He regularly lectures on the entrepreneurial aspects of business and offers advice on start-ups and the fundamentals of running a business. Dean has previously been a governor at primary level and is keen to add his skill set to Future Tech Studio and work with the students, staff and other governors to help drive success.
Lee completed his PGCE with Edge Hill University and specialises in Business and Economics. Lee previously volunteered in schools in Northern Ireland prior to his PGCE. Since starting at Future Tech Studio, Lee has been involved in a variety of enrichment activities including running the Young Enterprise group.
Gail has been the Principal at Future Tech Studio since September 2015. She previously spent two years as the Head of a 14-16 Apprenticeship Academy and was responsible for the whole A Level and Sixth Form provision at Leeds City College. Previous to this, Gail set up a Sixth Form college in Sheffield and held the position of Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. This recent leadership background has combined Gail’s experience of both vocational and employment skills with her focus firmly being on academic excellence in a variety of fields and educational pathways.
Anneka is an experienced marketer who is a specialist within digital marketing and has worked in the industry for over 16 years. Anneka currently works for Warrington Collegiate’s marketing team and has an involvement with the day to day marketing of the Future Tech Studio School. From working in the Education sector she is well placed to help support and guide the governing body on possible communication and web developments that may be useful for the students and staff to know about. She joined the Governing body in July 2016.
Nadia is a Personal Assistant to the Principal of Future Tech Studio and is also Examinations Officer and Clerk to the Governors. She has previously worked at the University of Salford, Manchester PCT, Central Manchester Foundation Trust and in Children’s Community Services.
Minutes of Meetings
The governing body will ensure that a signed copy of the minutes of each full committee will be available on the website and remain there for a minimum of 12 months.
